Core Beliefs


What We Believe... Below is a brief description of our core beliefs. These are time tested truths from the Word of God and ones in which we are unashamedly uncompromising. We believe the Bible is the inspired and unchanging Word of God. Because it is truth, the Bible is the only reliable foundation for our beliefs and actions (2 Timothy 3:15-17, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Psalms 119:160, John 17:17, John 8:32). We believe there is only one God, who is eternally existent in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, Mark 1:10-11, John 10:30, John 14:16-17). We believe Jesus Christ is fully God even though He existed in the flesh (John 1:14, John 10:33, Hebrews 1:3). Jesus was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1.23, Luke 1:35); He performed supernatural miracles (Matthew 11:4-5, John 2:11); He lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:14-15, Hebrews 7:26); His death was to atone for the sins of others (1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Ephesians 1:7, 1 John 2:2); He was resurrected from the dead (John 11:25-27, 1 Corinthians 15:4-8); He dwells at the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19, Hebrews 1:3); He will return in power and glory (Acts 1:11, Revelation 19:11). We believe the Holy Spirit enables the Christian to live a godly life (John 16:13-14, Romans 8:13-14, 1 Corinthians 3:16, 6:19-20, 2 Corinthians 5:5, Galatians 5:16-24, Ephesians 4:30, 5:18). We believe there is no one without sin (Romans 3:23) and God set death as the wage for sin (Genesis 2:17, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:1). Therefore, eternal life is a gift to be accepted not a reward that is earned (Romans 6:23) and is only available through faith in the sinless Savior Jesus Christ (John 3:16, 5:24, 14:6, Acts 4:12, Romans 5:8-10, 6:23, 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-10, 1 Timothy 2:5, Titus 3:5). We believe every Christian is commanded to be a disciple maker (Matthew 28:18-20). Our work in this life is measured and will be rewarded (Matthew 6:19-24, John 15:2, 1 Corinthians 3:12-15, Revelation 22:12). A Christian is motivated to labor by a love for God and others (John 13:35, 14:15). We believe Heaven is real and reserved only for those in right relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ (Matthew 7:21-23, Luke 16:19-31, John 3:16, 11:25-26, 14:6, 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, Revelation 20:15).
